FUTURE FIT is the result of DERMACOLOR’s attitude in researching and developing responsible solutions that adapt to the needs of current and future tanning industries. Already highly performant in technical and sustainability terms in all the WET END phases, from which the biodegradability and compostability of the leathers can be obtained, the FUTURE FIT process is now complete in the FINISHING phase, thanks to the innovative “L1 Biofinishing System from Evolved By Nature”.

Specific features of the FUTURE FIT process in its main phases:

SOAKING

During the rehydration phase, the leather is fleshed and the residual fleshing is washed and purified by using only water, sodium carbonate and enzymes. These enzymes, feeding on hyaluronic acid, make the leather water. This process produces a secondary raw material for the production of protein hydrolysed gelatins for the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and food industries.

LIMING

The use of sulphate-free and chloride-free deliming agents, and the elimination of ammonium sulphate and chlorides, significantly improves the environmental impact of this phase.

PRE-TANNING AND RETANNING

At this phase, the Future Fit process doesn't use bisphenols, offering different tanning options without affecting technical and environmental performances:

FINISHING

The Future Fit process is completed with the finishing phase thanks to the possibility of using ‘The L1 Biofinishing System from Evolved By Nature. This system replaces petrochemical chemicals with natural ones, improving its performance without affecting the environment.
